What Makes the VIZION FLARE Different?
One-Piece Vertebrae Construction
Feel matters when choosing a fastpitch softball bat. Some hitters prefer direct feedback at contact, but find the harsh sensation of certain one-piece designs uncomfortable.
The VIZION’s composite Vertebrae construction is designed to provide a responsive one-piece feel while softening that feedback. It gives players who enjoy a connected feel another option to consider when choosing their next bat.

Limited Edition Style
The FLARE brings a bold visual identity to the VIZION lineup. Galaxy-inspired barrel artwork sits alongside gold lettering and bright pink accents, while the metallic finish changes the look from a standard solid-color bat.
For players who value appearance alongside fit and feel, the limited edition VIZION FLARE collection offers a distinctive option.
VIZION FLARE -11 vs. -10 vs. -9
A bat’s drop is the difference between its length in inches and its weight in ounces. At the same length, a -11 is lighter than a -10, and a -10 is lighter than a -9.
| Model | SKU | Weight comparison at equal length | Who should consider it? |
|---|---|---|---|
| VIZION FLARE -11 | WD2700501 | Lightest of these three options | Younger or developing hitters who need less total weight |
| VIZION FLARE -10 | WD2700101 | One ounce heavier than the -11 | Hitters comfortable with a moderate increase in weight |
| VIZION FLARE -9 | WD2700201 | One ounce heavier than the -10 | Stronger hitters who can maintain control with added weight |
Drop weight does not tell you whether a bat is balanced or end loaded. It describes the length-to-weight relationship, not how that weight is distributed.
VIZION FLARE -11: A Lighter Option for Developing Hitters
The 2027 DeMarini VIZION FLARE -11 Fastpitch Softball Bat WD2700501 brings the VIZION’s one-piece composite design to players who need a lighter weight relative to length.
For a younger hitter, a bat that is too heavy can be difficult to control. The -11 is worth considering when the player needs less weight than a -10 or -9 of the same length.
Consider this model if the player:
-
Currently swings a -11 comfortably.
-
Finds a same-length -10 difficult to control.
-
Wants responsive one-piece composite feel in a lighter option.
Choose based on the player’s current swing rather than buying extra weight to “grow into.”

VIZION FLARE -10: The Middle Weight Option
The 2027 DeMarini VIZION FLARE -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat WD2700101 sits between the -11 and -9 in weight when comparing equal lengths.
It is an option for players who are comfortable with more weight than a -11 but do not want to move to a -9. Contact hitters, power hitters, and all-around players can consider this model based on their strength and preferred feel.
Consider the -10 if the player:
-
Already handles a -10 well.
-
Is testing a move from a -11.
-
Prefers the VIZION’s responsive construction and limited edition graphics.
Moving to a heavier bat should preserve comfortable timing and control. The extra ounce alone does not guarantee better results.

VIZION FLARE -9: For Hitters Comfortable With Added Weight
The 2027 DeMarini VIZION FLARE -9 Fastpitch Softball Bat WD2700201 is the heaviest of these three options at an equal length.
It suits hitters who can handle the added weight while maintaining their normal swing. A player should be able to repeat that swing through a full practice session, not just take a few comfortable swings before fatigue sets in.
Consider the -9 if the player:
-
Currently uses a -9 successfully.
-
Has tested a heavier bat and maintained control.
-
Prefers responsive one-piece composite feedback.
A -9 is not reserved only for power hitters. Strength, timing, and comfort matter more than a hitting label.

How to Choose the Right VIZION FLARE
Start With the Player’s Current Bat
Note the length and weight of the bat the player uses now. Consider what works and what needs to change.
Does the bat feel comfortable throughout practice? Does the hitter struggle with its weight? Is the player looking for a different feel at contact? Those answers provide a useful starting point.
Compare Weight at the Same Length
Changing length and drop at the same time can create a larger weight change than expected.
For example, a 31-inch -11 weighs 20 ounces, while a 32-inch -10 weighs 22 ounces. That move adds two ounces along with an inch of length.
These examples explain drop-weight math and do not indicate available VIZION FLARE sizes. Check each product page for listed options:
Confirm League Requirements
Before purchasing, compare the bat’s certification stamps with your league or tournament’s current rules. Do not assume that every fastpitch bat is accepted in every event.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the 2027 DeMarini VIZION FLARE a limited edition bat?
Yes. The FLARE is a limited edition model featuring metallic colors and galaxy-inspired graphics. Browse all three drops in the VIZION collection.
Is the VIZION FLARE one-piece or two-piece?
It uses one-piece composite Vertebrae construction, designed for responsive feedback with reduced harshness at contact.
Which drop should a younger player choose?
The -11 VIZION FLARE is the lightest of these options at equal length. The final choice should reflect the player’s strength, current bat, and swing control.
Should a player move from a -10 to a -9?
Consider the move after testing the added weight. If timing or control suffers, staying with the -10 VIZION FLARE may be the better fit.
Does a heavier bat automatically hit farther?
No. Added weight does not guarantee better contact or more distance. Choose a bat the hitter can swing effectively and consistently.
