It suits players who are comfortable with a 30-inch length and ready to handle a heavier -5 drop without losing swing control. Its USSSA 1.15 BPF certification is intended for competition that permits this bat specification. Shop with SPC Sports, serving baseball and softball players since 1999 in Mentor, Ohio.

Why Choose a 30-Inch, 25-Ounce Baseball Bat?

Keep a familiar length while moving up in weight. A player using a 30-inch bat can consider the 30/25 without also moving to a longer barrel. This separates the decision to add weight from the decision to add reach.

Choose a shorter option within the -5 lineup. Compared with the Dub’s 31/26 and 32/27 sizes, the 30/25 offers less length and a lower listed weight. It gives hitters another option when longer -5 bats feel difficult to manage.

Make a measured transition from lighter drops. At 30 inches, a -8 bat weighs 22 ounces and a -10 weighs 20 ounces. The 30/25 adds 3 or 5 ounces, respectively, so players should demonstrate that they can handle the increase before making the switch.

What Age Group Is the 30/25 Best For?

This size is intended for developing youth hitters with enough strength and coordination to swing 25 ounces consistently. For parents shopping for a preteen or young teen travel ball player, strength, current bat size and coach feedback are more useful than age alone.

A good fit lets the player maintain timing, balance and barrel control through repeated swings. If the added weight causes late swings or changes in mechanics, a lighter drop may be the better choice. Moving to -5 does not automatically produce harder contact.
