The Champro Batter's Protective Hand Guard (BPHGAB) is an adult batter's hand guard built for baseball and softball hitters at every level who need reliable hand and top-of-hand protection against high-and-tight inside pitches without restricting grip, swing feel, or the confident aggressive approach that staying on inside pitches demands at the plate. The corrugated shell design disperses ball impact across the surface rather than concentrating it at a single contact point, soft fabric backing keeps the guard comfortable against the hand throughout the at-bat, and a front strap with elastic finger loop secures the guard in position on either the right or left hand without tools, clips, or complicated attachment hardware. The corrugated design is the defining structural feature of the BPHGAB -- the ridged shell geometry disperses and scatters the kinetic energy of a high-and-tight fastball or breaking ball across the corrugated surface rather than channeling it directly to the hand and knuckles beneath the guard, reducing the intensity of the impact felt by the hitter and providing meaningful protection against the pain, bruising, and potential hand injury that direct ball contact on an unprotected top hand can cause when a hitter gets drilled on a pitch up and in during a game or practice at-bat.
The soft fabric backing creates a cushioned, comfortable contact surface between the hard outer shell and the hitter's hand, so the guard can be worn directly over a batting glove without the rough, abrasive feel that unlined hard shell guards create against the hand and knuckles during an active at-bat -- keeping the hitter's focus on the pitch rather than the feel of the protective gear during the swing.
The front strap and elastic finger loop work together to secure the guard in the correct position on the top of the hand through every pitch and swing in the at-bat -- the front strap anchors the guard against the hand at the wrist and the elastic finger loop wraps around a finger to prevent the guard from rotating, sliding, or losing contact with the top of the hand during the full rotational mechanics of the swing.
The ambidextrous design allows the BPHGAB to be worn on either the right or left hand without any modification or hardware adjustment, making it a one-size-works-for-all solution for both left-handed and right-handed hitters who wear the guard on their top hand at the plate.
